Ongwanada is a non-profit, public sector, organization providing care, services and supports to approximately 600 developmentally disabled individuals. Of the 500 full-time, part-time and casual employees, more than two-thirds are direct care staff and service providers.
The work force is comprised of members of the Ontario Public Services Employees Union and its Local 433, the Canadian Union of Public Employees and its Local 29, and Management/Non-Union employees.
The majority of vacancies are unionized positions which first require an internal posting and will state that the posting is “Restricted”, meaning only existing union employees may apply. Position postings will specifically indicate that the area of search has been “Opened”.
