The Southeastern Regional Transitional Treatment Home is an initiative of the Ministry of Community and Social Services that builds upon existing strengths and addresses previous gaps in service in Ontario. The home provides mid-term treatment for a time period ranging from six months to two years. The home provides support to individuals who require intensive longer term treatment that cannot be met in the current environment.
The four-bed facility provides treatment for individuals, 18 years of age or older, with a developmental disability and a mental health issue/challenging behaviour. The individuals must live in the Southeastern region.
Individuals referred to the treatment home must:
Have an ongoing commitment from their lead agency/caregivers to participate in the treatment process and to implement team recommendations upon discharge, have reserved funding with agency and family commitment for the client to return home, be medically stable,have a case manager.

Videoconferencing facilities on site, Video surveillance, qualified staff on duty 24 hours a day.
Access to Qualified Professionals including: Physicians, Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Clinical Dietician, Nurses, Occupational/Physio Therapists, Speech Pathologist.
