Laboratory

Ongwanada's lab is licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and undergoes peer assessment by the Ontario Laboratory Accreditation Board. Analytical testing requests are accepted only by a physician order and specimens are collected with attention to client's special needs and at a time and location convenient to the clients.

The laboratory technologist coordinates infection control by monitoring current infections and promoteing education through in-service staff training and presentations. Staff and volunteers with doctors orders may use this service during operating hours. The lab is open to all residents, staff, volunteers and clients of Ongwanada. Hours of operation are weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
