POSITION PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Senior Director, Corporate Services is responsible for the effective and efficient oversight and leadership of Ongwanada’s corporate services portfolio (human resources, clinical information systems, communication & fundraising, quality & assurance, enterprise risk management, and OPR QAM oversight) ensuring the intent and purpose of Ongwanada’s mission, vision and strategic and operational plans are consistently promoted through these functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the CAO with executing the strategic plan, including developing long and short- range operation goals and standards, resource availability analyses, human resources, management of clinical information systems, organizational dashboards, legislative compliance, accreditation, enterprise risk management, organizational quality & assurance, organizational communications & fundraising
  • Ensure systems are in place to manage risks and provide clear concise information that facilitates decision making for short- and long-term organizational planning;
  • Provide advice and counsel to the CAO and Senior Leadership on the interpretation of MCCSS directives and organizational policies that will allow Ongwanada to better position itself for the future and within the region;
  • Assume the lead in union negotiations and reporting back to the CAO and Senior Leadership;
  • Assume the lead role in analyzing and exploring means of improving efficiencies in scheduling, workforce flexibility, union agreements;
  • Ensures development and periodic updates to policies and procedures, reporting systems, labour relations, accreditation, compliance, QPR QAM oversight, enterprise risk management;
  • Ensures that the Agency’s staffing resources, and employee management practices are aligned with the Agency’s strategic directions and purpose;
  • Ensure organizational communication plan is aligned with the strategic plan in consultation with the CEO & CAO.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Degree in health, business, or human resources is Master’s and/or equivalent experience is preferred;
  • Minimum of eight years of experience with demonstration of progressively responsible positions in organizations worked;
  • Professional designation in a related area, as applicable;
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma and/or Project Management is preferred;
  • Creative problem solving, decision making, mediation, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills;
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, mentor, and advocate for others;
  • Experience working within a unionized environment
