re: Visitors

Dear Ongwanada family members,

As you may be aware, the province of Ontario has imposed visitor restrictions in long-term care homes in areas of the province identified as COVID-19 hotspots. To date, there have been no changes to visitor guidelines in developmental services, however with the second wave of COVID-19 continuing to evolve, this could change at any time. Ongwanada monitors the local COVID-19 situation closely and may need to implement changes to policies, programs and services as required to limit exposure risk to supported individuals and staff.

In the meantime, we ask for your assistance in protecting the health and well-being of your loved one, other individuals we support and out staff by being extra diligent in adhering to visitor agreements and screening. Please delay your visit if you are feeling unwell or have been in contact with others who are ill.

Additionally, we ask that you use caution during outings and family visits and avoid places identified as higher risk such as movie theatres, malls, large family gatherings and other indoor settings with large numbers of people. Outings where there is less rick such as visits to parks, nature trails, and other outdoor areas are preferred at this time.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding. We will get through this together. Please accept my best wishes.

Sincerely,

Alastair Lamb
CEO
