Supported Independent Living

The Supported Independent Living Program is designed to help someone with a developmental disability live with or without a partner/roommate, often in an apartment setting. A Community Case Worker assists people in achieving their goals that are aligned with each person’s individualized support plan as well as fosters independence. Someone considering the Supported Independent Living Program would have the life skills necessary to live with occasional support for meals, money management, and community engagement.

SIL

People with developmental disabilities live on their own with support provided by Ongwanada and other agencies. When more support is required, Ongwanada offers a number of community residential options and collaborates with other community providers to meet the unique needs of each person.
