POSITION:

Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Director of Administration is a collaborative member of the Executive Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Team and is accountable for providing leadership and operational direction consistent with Ongwanada’s strategic goals and managing the execution to deliver desired outcomes.

This includes the overall planning, development, delivery and effectiveness of corporate and support services (Information Technology, Client Information Services, Human Resources, Facilities, Marketing & Communications, Pharmacy, capital planning, project management, and centralized intake/referrals,) and the effectiveness of day-to-day operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement and monitor key performance indicators of corporate & support services
  • Create streamlined processes, accountabilities and cross-functional relationships
  • Support the leadership team in implementing the organization’s strategic plan by developing and deploying programs, policies and structures that will advance the identified directions
  • Ensure organizational policies and procedures are processed following the Board of Directors’ approval and are maintained (up-to-date at all times);
  • Review and evaluate Human Resources, IT, Client Information Services, and Facilities and its preparedness for MCCSS Journey to Belonging (fee based services) transition in the sector.
  • Provide direction and counsel to supervisory staff to assist with complex problems/issues within a developmental context;
  • Coordinate annual budget requirements within areas of responsibility, submitting recommendations so that the areas remain within budget.

      QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

      • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in senior leadership in the developmental services/autism sector
      • Post-secondary education in a related field. Masters level preferred.
      • Extensive experience and participation in developmental service networks, planning tables and community response committees; demonstrated experience working with community partners across sectors such as health, mental health and addictions, community support services, child welfare and emergency services.
      • Understanding of managing program budgets and development of funding /budget proposals
      • Experience working with regulated health professionals and relevant regulatory requirements
      • Experience working in unionized environment
      • Experience and aptitude in dealing with various professional persons.
      • Ability to relate effectively with supervisors and employees and the ability to formulate objectives and to organize and co-ordinate services and programs to best utilize the human resources of Ongwanada.
