Community Garden
At a time when topics like environmental sustainability, food safety, and growing practices are top of mind, Ongwanada’s Community Garden provides a meaningful way to reconnect with the food we eat.
The garden was established in 1993, when the District Health Council began offering grants to support programs that promote exercise and healthy living. Since then, it has grown into a valued community space that encourages outdoor activity, wellness, and access to fresh, homegrown produce.
Typically, garden plots are available for public rental, offering a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fresh air, stay active, and grow your own healthy food.
Please note that for the 2026 Spring/Summer season, plots will be unavailable due to extensive construction on Wright Crescent, as well as improvements taking place on our grounds. We look forward to welcoming the community back once this work is complete.
