We are thrilled to highlight a meaningful community partnership, our ongoing connection with Goat Ridge Farm. Over the past year, the people we support at Crescent Centre have enjoyed several enriching visits to the farm, each one filled with adventure, learning, and plenty of goat cuddles.

During our most recent visit, participants were welcomed with the same warmth and enthusiasm that farm owner Lindsay is known for. They had the chance to take a peaceful nature walk with a lively herd of goats, spend time brushing and caring for them, and, of course, enjoy some snuggles with these gentle and entertaining animals. These visits offer a unique blend of recreation, sensory engagement, and connection with nature, an experience many look forward to every season.

One of the most inspiring parts of this partnership is Lindsay’s dedication to making the farm increasingly accessible for everyone. Seeing how much joy and comfort these visits bring, Lindsay has begun implementing accessibility-focused renovations in the barn to ensure that future experiences, including the highly anticipated spring “kid cuddles,” can be enjoyed by all, including those who use wheelchairs or mobility supports.

Our Crescent Centre staff, especially Tracy, have worked closely with Lindsay to nurture this partnership, which has grown into a truly collaborative and inclusive experience for the people we support. It’s community connections like these that remind us of the power of shared spaces, shared experiences, and shared compassion.

We are deeply grateful to Lindsay and Goat Ridge Farm for opening their doors and hearts to our community. We look forward to many more visits, more memories, and more goat hugs in the seasons ahead.
